Superintendent's Blog - Our students deserve 100% of an education, not 86.75%.

At the end of last week, state legislation was passed to address a $1.6 billion hole in this year's state budget. Unfortunately, this legislation authorizes a 2.25% cut in funding to school districts across the state. A-TOWN will receive an additional $100,000 less this school year as a result of the recent cut to General State Aid and Categorical Payments (Transportation, Special Education, etc.). The proration has now dropped for the 2014-15 school year from 89% proration to 86.75%. This trend of not funding the required minimum foundation level has been occurring for the past four years.  Click this link to see more.
